Sanita provides administrative, monetary, and packages administration support for the implementation of the Southeast Asia Program’s work in Thailand. Rin works with group and civil society networks in Thailand to guard the Mekong River and advocate for better accountability of investors in hydropower within the Mekong area. Prior to joining International Rivers, Maureen worked as Mekong Legal Director for EarthRights International primarily based in Thailand and with the Australian Human Rights Commission on human rights and judicial reform initiatives in China and Vietnam. She joined International Rivers in 2021 as Development Director. Carly assists International Rivers with improvement and communications, handling donor outreach, coordinating the organization’s sub-granting, donation and grant processing, social media, and the Women and Rivers Accelerator Program. Genny focuses on the International Rivers’ Francophone Africa program. Prior to becoming a member of International Rivers, Rin labored intently with people’s networks in Thailand, together with those impacted by the Rasi Salai dam and Assembly of the Poor. For over twenty years, Tanya has been a part of civil society groups advocating on labor, women’s, environmental, climate, power, useful resource and water justice points, together with in Canada, USA, Philippines, Thailand, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Nepal and Palestine.
She has labored on environmental, social justice and human rights issues in Africa, has supported communities impacted by extractives industries and engaged policy-makers in pursuit of vitality justice. Her space of expertise is in business and human rights. She has previously worked with many grassroots defenders, networks for human rights defence, impacted communities as well as international civil society organizations utilizing analysis, advocacy, scholarship and regulation as tools for addressing injustice. He has over 13 years expertise providing technical and advocacy support to – and strengthening collaborations between – civil society organizations and river networks in the Mekong area. Anake brings special abilities to the desk when offering monetary advice and technical help to the co-executive directors, board members, and workers. Anake Lekkoon is in charge of International Rivers’ accounting and financing all through South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America along with overseeing funds affecting the complete organization.
Monti works as part of International Rivers’ Latin America program to support native movements for the safety of rivers and to develop methods for legally protecting rivers permanently. He joined International Rivers in 2014 as Policy Director to lead the work focusing on the world’s major financiers and firms energetic within the dams sector. When he was Director of Environmental Protection on the Federal Environment Agency, he was co-writer and accountable for implementing the Plan for Preventing and Combating Deforestation in the Amazon, which contributed to the significant drop in the annual deforestation charges within the Amazon. Flávio brings 25 years of experience working with civil society organizations and social movements within the protection of rainforests and conventional populations.
Carly has consulting experience with the US Department of State and various nonprofit organizations in Washington, DC, conducting analysis on women’s environmental leadership within the face of climate change. Since becoming a member of International Rivers, Josh has led profitable efforts to usher the World Bank out of the business of funding dams and has helped stop the Green Climate Fund from bankrolling hydropower.
